Washington Gas Meeting Room Notes

Location: 6801 Industrial Road, Springfield, Virginia

Meeting Rooms: two available, weekends as well as weekday evenings
(no options for food/drink in building)

Reservations:
To reserve a meeting room for a CPCUG Special Interest Group [SIG],
gather the dates and times that your SIG would like to use either
the large auditorium or the small auditorium. You will probably be able
to book the space for 6 months at a time.  For example: if you want to
use the large auditorium on the second Monday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM,
record the specific dates [10/08/2001, 11/12/2001, 12/10/2001] and use
those dates when making reservations. When you're ready to reserve
meeting space at Washington Gas for the first time, contact
John Sherman, 703-569-4247, j4247@aol.com.

Large Auditorium Facilities

Has projection screen and phone jack.
SIG or presenter must bring projector and laptop if needed/desired.

Primary Door - Directly behind guard desk.  It is noisy to open during
meeting.

1st Alternate Door - From guard desk, go right, then left, go to first
double doors on left.

2nd Alternate Door - From guard desk, go left, then right, go to first
double doors on right.

Podium - Lowest level - It is heavy; but it can be moved -  Have never
used light or microphone

Piano - Lowest level - Do not move unless absolutely necessary. (It is
not in tune.)

Electrical Switches on the Top Level

Switch - To left of main entrance door, controls rear lights [variable,
up = more light, down = less light]

Five Switches - Further left of main entrance door [switches are listed
from closest to you to furthest from you]
1 Right Spotlight
2 Center Spotlight
3 Left Spotlight
4 Rear Lights [variable]
5 Front Lights [variable]

Electrical Switches, Phone Jack, and Outlets on the Lowest Level

Far left - Circular dimmer switch - Three lights over screen

Middle - 3 button projection screen switch - Up, Stop, and Down

Near left - Six switches [switches are listed left to right]
1 Right Spotlight
2 Center Spotlight
3 Left Spotlight
4 Rear Lights [variable]
5 Front Lights [variable]
6 Red, Green, and Blue Spotlights

Phone Jack - Below the 6 switches mentioned above - Use Voice [bottom]
[may have to use 9 and 1 or just 1 before 10-digit phone number]

Electrical Outlets [for presentation equipment] - Under first row of seats
